Turning Into a Butterfly

Turning into a butterfly is a hard, long process. You have to come out of your comfort zone to go from catipillar to butterfly. In the short story "The Day of the Butterfly" shows the transfromtion from catipillar to butterfly through the main character,Myra,. In the begining of the story she had no friends, and seemed to except the fact that she just did not fit in with anyone. However, she seemed too make a connection with one of her classmate, Helen, while waiting for the school bus. Since Myra never experienced having a friend it was uncomfortable for her. However, when Myra got sick and had to go to the hospital Helen, and the other classmates went to go visit her, then Myra seemed to open herself up more. For Myra that was a big step. A butterfly started out as a catipillar, which is not that pretty, and cannot fly yet. However, when the catipillar makes a cacon and comes out as a butterfly, it looks beutifull, and starts to fly just like Myra. In the begin of story she was a catipillar that really does not do much, but by putting herself out there she transforms herself into a butterfly, and Myra starts to realize that someone would want to be her friend, and she worth more than she thought.
