"What do we do now?"

The summer is over, and my senior year at Scituate High School has finally come. This school year will be packed with hard work and loads of fun. Over the past couple years, Scituate's Athletic program has really improved. Scituate's basketball, hockey, and lacrosse teams has moved Scituate to the top of the list as one of the most difficult competitors. Unfortunately, I dont play any of those sports. I do track in the winter and baseball in the spring. The baseball program is doing pretty good but the winter track program is a little shaky. The talents there but the size of the team isnt. The girls team has plenty of players but the boys team has very few. Each year the boys track team gets smaller and smaller. Sophmore year, my first year, the boys team had around 25 kids. Junior year, around 15-20 kids. And now senior year has come and might have just enough to form a team. What do we do now? Once the class of 09' graduates, the teams basically doomed. The solution for this ongoing problem is to have all the kids who are sitting around doing nothing to get up and join a sports team. Preferably winter track?? Anything really. Its a good experience and it looks nice on a college resume. Hopefully the team will grow and this problem will never come about again.

I agree Tommy! So many people would rather be bored than involved in a team sport. Stay involved!
